Australia was the place where Austin's first race car was born. Bill Warren, a Sydney motor-dealer, focused his attention on Austin cars and Morris cars in early 1930s. After several years of using his own Austin as a road car, George Murray approached Warren to see if he could convert it for racing. Murray was an avid motor racing driver and a salesman. Murray met Warren and purchased an Austin Sixteen chassis. The conversion began.

Christie's first racing vehicle

Christie's first racing car was on the track in January 1904. The car did not prove to be a success. It was heavy with heavy steering and an extreme front weight bias. There were also two 60-hp engine options. It was nonetheless a remarkable achievement by a young American engineer. Sir Henry Segrave's first race car

Frank Duryea made history in motorsport when he won the first race. It was the first American automobile race. The race officials didn't even know what they should call the cars, so they called them motocycles. It was 38 degrees and the race took place on Thanksgiving. Only two cars made to the finish. Frank Duryea won this race by an average pace of 7.5 MPH.

Aspendale Racecourse

Aspendale Racecourse became the first motor racing track to be purpose-built. It was built in 1904 at the site a former horse racetrack located in Melbourne, Victoria.
