What kind of cars are used for racing cars?

Speed is the most important thing to any race car driver. It's what makes them go fast. They must be fast enough that they catch up to other drivers and strong enough to maintain the lead. This gives them an advantage over the rest of the racers, as they can quickly overtake other drivers at high speeds and pull away from them again when it's not their turn.

Lightweight cars are often the fastest. This allows them accelerate quickly and gain speed. They also have less power, so they travel a lot faster. They need to make efficient use of energy.

Engines power most modern-day racing cars. These engines are identical to those used in passenger vehicles. These engines run on compressed gas instead of petrol. This is because petrol isn’t strong enough to make a car go fast.

What's the length of a race?

Different races have different lengths.

There are endurance races that last several days.

Sprint races and other races are shorter.

What is the difference between racing and road cars?

A road car is designed to be driven on public roads. These cars are made specifically for racing. They have special aerodynamic features that help them accelerate quickly and brake sharply.
