NASCAR adds Mexican-Born Drivers to Cup Series

NASCAR announces that Daniel Suarez will race for the Cup Series in 2021. The Mexican-born driver will join Trackhouse Racing, which has been formed by Justin Marks, a former NASCAR driver who also co-owned the K&N Pro Series West team. The team will operate under a technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing, and will be powered by ECR engines. The team will also operate from the Richard Childress Racing shop located in Welcome, North Carolina.

Suarez is fifth NASCAR driver from outside the USA to win at NASCAR’s highest level.

Daniel Suarez was raised in Monterrey Mexico and first became involved in motorsports as a teenager. After starting karting as a hobby with his family, he fell in love racing. He became obsessed with the sport, and began to train full-time. Soon, he was a two-time Mexican national karting champion. He was a competitor in the RotaxMAX Challenge Grand finals in 2004, as well as in an Italy competition.

He is the first Mexican-born driver to win a Cup Series race

Daniel Suarez, a Mexican driver, became the first Mexican to win a NASCAR Cup Series Race at Sonoma Raceway. Only 30 years old, he led 47 laps of the field. Suarez's victory in Cup Series marks his first win and makes him fifth foreign-born driver to win the series. Manuel, his father is Mexican.

After years of jumping from team to team, Daniel Suarez has finally found a home with Trackhouse Racing. The driver is currently negotiating a contract with the new sports and entertainment company, which is supported by Pitbull (a Grammy-winning rapper).
