Denny Hamlin wins NASCAR Cup Series race, Homestead-Miami Speedway

Denny Hamlin won NASCAR's Homestead-Miami Speedway race this season for the third time. It is now three consecutive wins. Hamlin's win at 1.5-mile track is now tied with Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle and Greg Biffle. Hamlin won the NASCAR Cup Series for the 40th time in his career.

The race has been a wild one. William Byron leads after 91 laps. Hamlin is fighting to be second, but Byron's late surge wins him the victory. Hamlin, however, is not yet out of it. Despite his penalty for late pit road speed, he is still in the top 10.

William Byron wins

William Byron is the first driver to win at HomesteadMiami's Cup Series. Adam Stevens, Byron's crew chief, had been working in the Truck Series together a year ago. The two won the Homestead season finale last season. The Cup Series was promoted to them in 2017.

He remained there until the lap 25 competition green. He pitted again on lap 27. After that, 13th was his new position. On lap 65, he dropped to 15th. Dillon has two top-10 finishes in seven career starts at Homestead, and hasn't finished lower than 14th there since 2014. Erik Jones is driving for Richard Petty Motorsports. Denny Hamlin's championship photograph shrinks down to 16 in September

Denny Hamlin's championship picture looks bleak with only two races left in the regular season. He is currently 26th among NASCAR Cup points, his worst start in 16 years. He tied Tony Stewart for the most career wins (49), but has been unable to win a championship during the first three months of the season. The pressure on Hamlin is mounting, especially after signing a multi-year contract last year.

Denny Hamlin can jump into the playoffs with his two wins this year. With his second win, he will not be able to fall below the top 13, in terms of wins. He won't have to worry about new winners or points with his third win in a row.

What cars are used to race cars and why?

Speed is the most important thing to any race car driver. It is what makes them go fast. They must be fast enough that they catch up to other drivers and strong enough to maintain the lead. This gives them an advantage over the rest of the racers, as they can quickly overtake other drivers at high speeds and pull away from them again when it's not their turn.

The lightest cars are typically the fastest. This allows them speed up quickly and to gain lots of speed. But this also means that they have less energy, which can limit how far they can travel in short periods of time. This means they have to be efficient with their energy.

Engines power most modern-day racing cars. These are similar to those found in normal passenger vehicles. These engines run on compressed gas instead of petrol. Because petrol is not powerful enough to give a car enough power to go fast, this is why these engines use compressed air.
